Nagarjuna's Century Film 'King100' to Reunite Him with Co-Star Tabu After Decades
Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna is meticulously crafting his upcoming 100th cinematic venture, tentatively titled 'King100'. The project, which has generated significant buzz since October 2025, recently gained major momentum with the confirmation that acclaimed actress Tabu will be joining the cast. Nagarjuna himself revealed that his 'Ninne Pelladata' co-star from the late 1990s will be part of this milestone production.
Decades-Long Bond Between Nagarjuna and Tabu Strengthens Collaboration
In a recent interview reported by Deccan Chronicle, Nagarjuna opened up about the enduring professional and personal connection he shares with Tabu. The actor emphasized that their relationship spans back to the very beginning of Tabu's career in the film industry. According to Nagarjuna, when Tabu learned about his landmark 100th film project, she immediately expressed her desire to participate.
"We go back a very long way. I've known her from the time she started. And when Tabu got to know I was doing my hundredth film, she wanted to be a part of it," Nagarjuna stated, highlighting the mutual respect and camaraderie that has persisted over the years.
No Romantic Angle Between Nagarjuna and Tabu in 'King100'
Despite the exciting reunion of these two veteran actors, director Ra Karthik has confirmed there will be no romantic storyline between Nagarjuna and Tabu in 'King100'. Nagarjuna will portray the titular character, while Tabu will appear in what is described as a critically important supporting role. The romantic elements of the film will instead be handled by two other actresses who have been cast as the female leads.
Ra Karthik, known for his previous work on 'Nitham Oru Vaanam', is steering this significant project with careful attention to contemporary audience preferences and storytelling techniques.
Historical Collaborations: Nagarjuna and Tabu's Filmography Together
The upcoming film marks the first collaboration between Nagarjuna and Tabu since 1998's 'Aavida Maa Aavide', which was inspired by the American classic 'My Favourite Wife'. Prior to that, the duo worked together in the 1995 film 'Sisindri', establishing an early chemistry that audiences have remembered fondly for decades.
Nagarjuna Prioritizes Perfection Over Hasty Release for Milestone Film
Nagarjuna has made it clear that he is approaching this centennial project with deliberate patience rather than rushing toward completion. The actor emphasized his commitment to creating something truly special that resonates with evolving audience tastes.
"I don't want to rush at all. Audiences' tastes are changing rapidly. I want to make sure we are doing something special," Nagarjuna explained, underscoring his dedication to quality over expediency.
He further elaborated on the film's action sequences, noting a shift toward realism in contemporary cinema: "Action sequences won't be FX-driven this time. Audiences want to see action that feels real, not other-worldly. The days of the larger-than-life hero are over."
This thoughtful approach suggests 'King100' will blend Nagarjuna's star power with grounded storytelling, potentially setting a new benchmark for milestone films in Indian cinema.
