Altamash Faraz Seeks Comedy Ventures Amidst Romantic Drama Preference
Altamash Faraz, an actor celebrated for his nuanced and emotional portrayals, is now setting his sights on expanding his artistic horizons by delving into comedy. Known primarily for serious roles, Faraz is enthusiastic about surprising his audience with lighter, humorous performances on screen.
Embracing Comedy with Enthusiasm
When questioned about his willingness to undertake a full-fledged comedy project, Altamash Faraz responded with clear affirmation. "Oh yes, I would love to do a project that is full-fledged comedy, as I've always loved to do comedy. Whenever I had the opportunity in my previous shows and projects to do a comedy scene, I thoroughly enjoyed that," he stated. He elaborated that comedy scenes are a highlight for him, and he takes pride in his innate sense of comic timing. "I really look forward to such scenes because I've been told, and as I've seen myself performing, I think I have very good comic timing. I really enjoy doing comedy," Faraz added.
Challenges in Indian Television Comedy
Faraz also addressed a significant gap in the industry, noting that comedy content remains underexplored in Indian television. "But it's just that we don't have a lot of comedy scenes in TV shows in India. But I would love to do anything that is related to comedy, full-fledged comedy, and even satirical kind of comedy, I love doing that," he explained. This observation underscores the limited opportunities for actors to showcase comedic talents in the current television landscape.
Romantic Dramas Hold a Special Place
Despite his interest in comedy, Altamash Faraz revealed that serious romantic dramas continue to be his favorite genre. When asked to choose between a romantic drama and a light-hearted comedy series, he admitted, "It's a tough pick, but I would always be inclined towards serious romantic dramas because I've always been a die-hard fan of the kind of romantic stories that come out. I've watched almost all the romantic series and films that come out. So that's one of my most favourite genres." He further emphasized his natural affinity for romantic scenes, stating, "I feel that I perform romantic scenes very well. So, I think I have the inherent romantic fanatic inside me, who loves to perform those kinds of scenes. They come naturally to me."
Future Genre Explorations
Concluding his thoughts, Faraz expressed openness to experimenting with other genres in the future. "But, I would also say that after the romantic dramas, both action and comedy would be my second pick," he shared. This indicates a balanced approach to his career, where he remains dedicated to his preferred romantic roles while actively seeking opportunities in comedy and action to diversify his portfolio.
