What more could a Bigg Boss Malayalam fan ask for? The logo of the upcoming eighth season has been released, and that too on superstar host Mohanlal's birthday. For the first time ever, the logo reveal was done through a promo featuring the host announcing yet another surprise.

The teaser begins with a voice-over of people expressing their concern about not being able to enter the show since they are commoners. Superstar Mohanlal, in his iconic moustache look, hears this and says he can very well relate to the emotions of a commoner. "I was also a commoner when I came into the industry as Narendran in Manjil Virinja Pookkal. I know the apprehensions and sorrow of a commoner," he says.
Further in the video, the host announces that this time the show will welcome more commoner contestants, but with a special pre-launch event. "Bigg Boss Malayalam stands out with the inclusion of commoners in the show, and this time it is going to be more. Ahead of the premiere, there will be a special show to showcase the talents of commoners, who can eventually enter Bigg Boss. Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 Agnipariksha — Your Ticket to Fame," he announces.
Agnipariksha Format
The commoner selection event, Agnipariksha, was recently seen in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9, where a special talent hunt show was conducted to select the commoner contestants. The show, judged by former contestants, threw different challenges at the commoners, and the selected ones got into the show, which was themed ‘Celebrity vs Commoner’. Notably, Kalyan Padala, a commoner contestant, had lifted the trophy in Nagarjuna Akkineni’s show too.
Season 8 Expectations
Bigg Boss Malayalam 8 is expected to have its grand launch by September. The last season of the show crowned TV actress Anumol as the winner. Commoner contestant Aneesh emerged as the first runner-up. With the new format promising more commoner participation, fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere.
