DD News 'Creator's Corner' Slot for Digital Influencers Launched

In a significant move to bridge traditional broadcasting with the digital wave, India's public service broadcaster, Prasar Bharati, has launched a dedicated television slot for the country's digital content creators. The new initiative, named 'Creator's Corner,' will provide a prime-time platform on DD News and its digital platforms.

A Prime-Time Platform for Digital Voices

The announcement was made on Friday, January 10, 2026. Creator's Corner will be a 30-minute segment airing five days a week on DD News. It is scheduled for a prime-time telecast from Monday to Friday at 7:00 PM, with a repeat telecast the following morning at 9:30 AM from Tuesday to Saturday.

This initiative operates on a revenue-sharing model, creating a formal partnership between the national broadcaster and individual creators. The government has clarified that the digital creators and their original channels will receive full credit for the programming they provide.

Curated Content on Diverse Themes

The content for Creator's Corner will be sourced through a vetted application process managed by an independent team. Each episode will feature a curated selection of four to six reels or videos, with individual pieces ranging in length from two to ten minutes.

The program aims to cover a wide spectrum of subjects to cater to a diverse audience. The announced themes include:

  • News and Current Affairs
  • Culture, Travel, and Cuisine
  • Art, Literature, Music, and Dance
  • Health, Wellness, and Education
  • Science, Technology, and Environment
  • Inspiring Stories and Entertainment

A Strategic Step in Broadcasting Reform

Senior government ministers highlighted the transformative nature of this project. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that this marks the first instance of content creators being featured on a platform of a major media network. He described it as "the first step in the reform of the functioning of Prasar Bharati."

Echoing this sentiment, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan, emphasized that the initiative is designed to offer a credible platform to influencers who consistently generate quality content. The broader objective is to boost the digital economy by incentivizing high-quality content creation and dramatically expanding its reach through national television.

By launching Creator's Corner, Prasar Bharati is strategically positioning DD News at the confluence of authoritative broadcast journalism and the dynamic, grassroots energy of India's digital creator community. This partnership model could redefine how public broadcasters engage with emerging content trends and audiences.
