Kalanjali Kalotsav 27th Edition Enchants Bhopal

Bhopal: Ravindra Bhawan came alive with the sounds of classical music and the grace of Bharatanatyam on Friday evening as Kalanjali, one of Central India’s most respected cultural institutions, celebrated the 27th edition of its annual flagship festival, the Kalanjali Kalotsav. Founded by Guru Shri Pradeep Krishnan in 1998, Kalanjali has grown into a nurturing home for young talent, shaping generations of classical performers with dedication and love for Indian heritage.

Festival Unfolds Like a Prayer

The programme unfolded like a prayer. It opened with a magnificent Shiv-Ganesh Pushpanjali, where performers took to the stage with flowers in hand, offering their art as a devotional tribute. This was followed by Natesha Kauthvam, a powerful composition blending the cosmic dance of Natraj with the energy of Shiv Tandav, leaving the audience in awe.

Classical and Folk Performances

Classical pieces Alarippu and Jatiswaram were performed with remarkable precision and grace, reflecting years of rigorous training. The evening also had a vibrant, earthy touch with the folk dance ‘Gondhal’, bringing colour, energy and regional flavour to the stage. Every note, every rhythm and every movement resonated throughout the evening, telling stories of yore to city audiences.
