Samridhii Shukla Shares Excitement for Gangaur Festival Sequence in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Samridhii Shukla, who portrays the character Abhira in the long-running television series Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has expressed her enthusiasm for shooting the upcoming Gangaur festival sequence. The show, produced by Rajan Shahi under his banner Director's Kut Production, is set to feature a vibrant celebration that blends glamour with intense drama.

Authentic Rajasthani Traditions and Costume Details

In an exclusive revelation, Samridhii emphasized the show's commitment to authenticity. "We are shooting the Gangaur sequence on the sets in the city," she said. "This tradition has been followed authentically in Rajasthani culture for the past seventeen years in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. We really work a lot on the textures and the fabrication of the costumes of Rajasthan. We are deeply rooted in it."

As an artist, Samridhii feels blessed to gain knowledge about the Gangaur festival through her role. She described the shooting experience as peaceful and spiritually enriching, noting how it depicts the love between Maa Parvati and Shiv ji. "It shows how we make idols from scratch, then come to the ghat, and it is all shot beautifully as we immerse the idols," she added.

Challenges and Dedication in Outdoor Shooting

The actress highlighted the meticulous attention to detail, from costumes to storyline, ensuring every aspect of the festival is accurately portrayed. "We try to bring back the importance of Gangaur," Samridhii stated. However, shooting outdoors in the summer heat presents significant challenges. "It is quite difficult to shoot in the summer heat. We come early, but it shows our determination towards the show," she explained.

Despite the difficulties, the team is grateful for the opportunity to film outdoors, as it enhances the visual appeal of the sequence. Samridhii revealed that the celebration will include traditional elements like the Ghoomar dance. "It looks very beautiful, and it cannot be complete without Ghoomar, so we will be doing all of that. The ladies will start the dance sequence, and the men will also join in," she shared.

Dramatic Storylines and Viewer Expectations

The Gangaur sequence is not just about festivity; it is packed with drama. Samridhii teased upcoming plot twists, saying, "And I’ll give you a little secret—there are two major drama tracks in this Gangaur sequence, both around Armaan and Abhira, and something involving Bua Ji as well. So it’s really something to look forward to."

She concluded by reflecting on the show's legacy, noting that the Gangaur sequence has been showcased for seventeen years across more than five thousand episodes. "It has been shot really beautifully this year as well," Samridhii affirmed, building anticipation among fans for this annual highlight.
