Sushant Marya Embraces Complex Character in New TV Show Mr and Mrs Parshuram

After portraying a negative role in the long-running crime series CID, actor Sushant Marya is now set to explore intriguing grey shades in the upcoming television show Mr and Mrs Parshuram. The series features Neil Bhatt and Shambhavi Singh in lead roles and is an official adaptation of the popular Bengali drama Parashuram – Ajker Nayok.

From CID Villain to Unpredictable Dodo

Sushant Marya confirms his involvement in the project, revealing that he has already commenced shooting. "Yes, I am part of the show and have already started shooting. I am playing the role of Dodo. He is an unpredictable character with grey shades," says the actor. Khalid Siddiqui will portray the main antagonist in the series.

The actor landed this role following his performance in CID, where he played a biker who murders his competitor. "It was a negative role, and for the first time, I portrayed such a character. The casting team of Mr and Mrs Parshuram approached me after watching my performance in CID," Sushant shares.

Positive Shooting Experience with Co-Stars

Discussing his initial shooting experience with lead actors Neil Bhatt and Shambhavi Singh, Sushant expresses enthusiasm. "We shot for two to three days in Naigaon, and the experience was good. Shambhavi is very sweet, and Neil is talented, grounded, and humble. We have just started shooting together and don't know each other very well yet, but I believe that with every passing scene, our bond will grow," he remarks.

Embracing the Challenge of Negative and Grey Roles

Sushant Marya, who has previously appeared in shows like Namah, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Karn Sangini, believes that negative and grey characters present greater acting challenges. "Negative characters give actors an opportunity to explore their craft in depth. They allow us to showcase a wider range, intensity, and versatility compared to conventional hero roles," he explains.

He adds, "My character, Dodo, has many layers and is quite complex. I have mostly played chocolate-boy roles, but Dodo gives me a chance to explore a different side of my acting. That's what excites me about this project." This transition marks a significant step in Sushant's career as he delves into more nuanced performances beyond traditional hero portrayals.
