Anud Singh Dhaka Delves into Moral Ambiguity in Psycho Saiyyan
Anud Singh Dhaka is poised to captivate audiences in the upcoming project Psycho Saiyyan, a venture that immediately intrigued him due to its profound and unsettling examination of morality and the unforeseen repercussions of human decisions. In a recent reflection, the actor opened up about the magnetic pull of the script, emphasizing the concept of the "ripple effect" that emanates from our everyday choices.
The Allure of Unintended Consequences
"There are countless instances in our lives where we meticulously follow the right path, making ethically sound decisions, yet the collective outcome spirals into chaos, creating a tsunami of catastrophic proportions," Dhaka explains. He elaborates further, noting that narratives where characters strive for moral correctness, only to witness everything crumble, hold a special fascination for him. "Stories where everyone gives their best effort and adheres to the most morally upright decisions, yet everything still collapses, truly captivate me. That visceral sense of being utterly unprepared for the fallout is precisely what Psycho Saiyyan evoked when I first read the script."
Embracing the Complexity of Kartik Pandey
The intricate layers of his character, Kartik Pandey, solidified his commitment to the project. Dhaka shares, "Working on Psycho Saiyyan has been a uniquely enriching experience. Kartik Pandey is a deeply layered character, and each scene I film prompts me to reconsider his motivations and psyche. It's both exhilarating and demanding, keeping me constantly engaged. I consciously avoid overanalyzing; instead, I react instinctively as I believe the character would."
He adds a heartfelt note on audience connection: "What I cherish most is witnessing the audience's engagement with him. Their reactions—whether joy or even frustration directed at Kartik—demonstrate that the character feels alive and resonant. For me, the primary goal is breathing life into Kartik rather than seeking personal spotlight. If viewers remember Kartik and experience genuine emotions while watching, then I consider my job successfully accomplished."
Collaborating with Trusted Storytellers
The project also signifies his first collaboration with the creative trio of Saurabh Tiwari, Anand Jain, and Ajay Bhuyan. For Dhaka, joining this team was a decision rooted in profound trust in their narrative prowess. "I hold immense trust in Saurabh, Anand, and Ajay. I have long admired their distinctive storytelling style. It would have been a significant missed opportunity not to embark on this creative journey with them, especially when they placed such faith in me by entrusting a substantial responsibility and a powerful narrative."
A Continuation of Thematically Rich Choices
Anud Singh Dhaka has previously showcased his talent in projects like the anthology series Taj Mahal: 1989 (2020), the social comedy-drama Janhit Mein Jaari, and Lafangey, among others. Renowned for gravitating towards stories embedded with emotional and moral complexity, he views Psycho Saiyyan as a natural extension of this artistic preference. The show boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Ravi Kishan, Tejasswi Prakash, Srishti Shrivastava, Surbhi Chandna, Vaarun Bhagat, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Yashpal Sharma, promising a compelling viewing experience.
