To observe Kalashtami, wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before beginning the puja rituals. Devotees can observe a fast from dawn to dusk and offer sincere prayers to Lord Kaal Bhairav. Since he is a manifestation of Lord Shiva, one can also worship Lord Shiva by performing abhishekam to the Shivalingam. Visiting a Kaal Bhairav temple is highly recommended. Light a four-faced mustard oil diya and offer meetha rott (sweet bread) to Lord Bhairav. Additionally, milk or liquor can be offered as per one's wish.
