Haryana Government Greenlights Major Rural Healthcare Expansion
In a significant move to bolster healthcare infrastructure in rural Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved a substantial allocation of Rs 37.60 crore for the construction of eight new primary health centres. This announcement was made by Health Minister Arti Singh Rao on Thursday, highlighting the state's commitment to enhancing medical services in underserved areas.
Strategic Locations for Improved Access
The new health centres will be strategically established across multiple districts to ensure widespread coverage and convenience for rural residents. The approved locations include:
- Bangaon and Samain in Fatehabad district
- Ladwa in Hisar district
- Girawar and Samar Gopalpur in Rohtak district
- Farmana and Sargathal in Sonipat district
- Mallekan village in Sirsa district
Notably, in Mallekan, the project involves constructing a new building to replace the existing health centre, which is expected to modernize facilities and expand service capacity.
Project Timeline and Funding Mechanism
According to the health department, the construction of these primary health centres is projected to be completed within a timeframe of 18 to 24 months. To ensure smooth and efficient execution, the funds will be released in a phased manner. This structured approach aims to minimize delays and maintain quality standards throughout the development process.
Enhancing Rural Healthcare Services
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao emphasized that the establishment of these new centres is a critical step toward providing better and more accessible healthcare services for people living in rural areas. By reducing travel distances and wait times, the initiative seeks to address gaps in medical access, potentially improving health outcomes and preventive care in these communities.
The approval of Rs 37.60 crore underscores the Haryana government's focus on strengthening public health infrastructure, particularly in regions where healthcare facilities are limited. This investment is part of broader efforts to ensure equitable health services across the state, aligning with national goals for rural development and wellness.
