Idukki man bitten by cobra while saving colleague, 6th time

A worker was bitten by a snake, reportedly the sixth time in his life, while engaged in the construction of a compound wall at Pandippara in Idukki. The injured is Monsi, 48, a native of Perungkala in Maniyarankudy.

The incident occurred around 12:30pm on Wednesday while work was in progress at the site of a newly constructed house. Five workers were present at the site at the time of the incident. According to reports, a cobra suddenly lunged towards a migrant worker; to move him to safety, Monsi intervened and was bitten on the leg.

Monsi, who has previously survived five snakebite incidents, was immediately rushed to Idukki Medical College Hospital by his co-workers. Doctors said Monsi, who is admitted in ICU, remains in a critical condition.
