Kanpur: Residents continued to endure humid and sultry weather conditions on Friday, despite a slight dip in temperature. According to weather data, the maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 39.3 degrees Celsius, marginally lower than Thursday’s 40.1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature settled at 27 degrees Celsius. The hot and humid atmosphere left citizens feeling exhausted throughout the day.

North-eastern winds blowing at a speed of 4.5 km per hour swept across the city, while maximum relative humidity touched 62 percent, intensifying the uneasy conditions. Many residents complained that even air coolers were adding to the humidity inside rooms.
Forecast for Next 24 Hours
The weather department has forecast partly cloudy skies across all districts of the Kanpur division over the next 24 hours. Strong dusty winds with speeds ranging between 40 and 50 km per hour, along with light showers and thunderstorms in some areas, are also expected.
IMD Prediction
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the daytime temperature in Kanpur on Saturday may hover between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature is likely to remain between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius.
Expert Opinion
Dr. S. Sunil Pandey, weather expert at CSA University, said that due to increased atmospheric moisture, strong winds, thunderclouds, and light rain or drizzle are likely to continue in the Kanpur division during afternoon hours in the coming days. He added that temperatures are expected to fluctuate during the week, while humid and sultry conditions are also likely to intensify further, causing inconvenience to residents.
