Kerala School Bus Driver Succumbs to Injuries After Valparai Ghat Road Accident
Noushad Ali (39), the driver of Pang GLP School's bus who was critically injured in the tragic accident at Valparai, passed away early on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The driver, who had been on ventilator support with severe spine and rib injuries, died before a scheduled surgery could be performed.
Family Alleges Medical Negligence and Bureaucratic Delays
Ali's family members have raised serious allegations regarding the medical care he received. They claim that despite repeated requests to transfer him from the government hospital in Coimbatore to a private facility within the city, hospital authorities refused permission, stating they needed approval from either the district collector or the district medical officer.
"This bureaucratic delay may have cost my husband his life," said Seenath, Ali's wife who teaches at Vazhengal LP School. "We pleaded with them to allow us to move him to a private hospital where we believed he would receive better care, but they kept citing procedural requirements."
Background and Final Journey
Ali, a native of Muthukurussi in Perinthalmanna, had joined Pang GLP School as a bus driver approximately one-and-a-half years ago. Prior to this position, he worked at a pipe manufacturing company in Elamkulam. He is survived by his wife Seenath and their two children, Faheem Najid and Sanha Fathima.
Following his passing, Ali's body was transported to his family home in Perinthalmanna at 3 PM on Wednesday. It was later moved to his sister's residence at 5 PM before final burial rites were conducted at 5:30 PM at the Vazhengal Nooraniya Masjid burial grounds.

In related developments from the same tragic incident, Masnin (10), who escaped with minor injuries when the tempo traveller plunged into a gorge on the Pollachi-Valparai ghat road, has been discharged from the hospital in Perinthalmanna. The young girl had initially been treated at a hospital in Pollachi before being transferred for further care. Tragically, her mother Shakeela perished in the accident.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Fayis, who was driving the tempo traveller at the time of the accident, continues to receive treatment at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. His relatives report that his condition has shown improvement, and arrangements are being made to transfer him to a private hospital in Perinthalmanna for continued care.
