A tragic incident occurred at the Sawai Man Singh Medical College in Jaipur early Saturday morning when a 22-year-old MBBS student was discovered hanging at the New R D Hostel. The deceased has been identified as Nitin Yadav, a final-year medical student hailing from Alwar. He was residing in a rented flat near Nayla House with four friends and was scheduled to appear for his forensic medicine examination on Saturday.
Sequence of Events
According to police reports, Yadav had gone to study with friends at the S K Menon Hostel on Friday night. He left the hostel around 2:00 am, informing his friends that he was returning to his flat. However, CCTV footage revealed that he entered the New RD Hostel approximately 45 minutes later. He was seen on the seventh floor of the hostel and remained visible on CCTV until nearly 3:15 am. Notably, there were no CCTV cameras installed on the eighth floor, where a security guard found him hanging in the morning.
Investigation Details
Police arrived at the scene promptly and, with the assistance of a forensic team, brought down the body. No suicide note was recovered from the location. A smartphone and a laptop found at the scene have been sent for examination to gather potential clues. As of now, the motive behind the incident remains unclear, and further investigations are underway.
