The victims have been identified as MG Manu, aged 19, and MG Prajwal, aged 18. They were the sons of farmer Manjappa, a resident of Haluvagalu village. According to official reports from the Haluvagalu police, Manjappa had accompanied his three sons to the riverbank. When the boys entered the water for a swim, they suddenly lost their balance and were swiftly swept away by the strong river current.
In a desperate and courageous attempt, Manjappa managed to rescue his youngest son, Chiranjeevi, from the treacherous waters. However, despite his frantic efforts, he could not reach Manu and Prajwal in time, and they drowned before his eyes.
