Pregnant Woman Delivers Baby on Moving Train in Wardha
In a heartwarming incident, a nine-month pregnant woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy while travelling on the Bilaspur Superfast Express at Wardha railway station on Sunday. The woman was en route from Akola to Bilaspur when the unexpected delivery occurred, showcasing the swift response of railway staff in a medical emergency.
Emergency Unfolds During Journey
The woman began experiencing severe labour pains during the train journey. Passengers, including train conductor Praveen Narnaware, quickly alerted the authorities. The Wardha deputy station superintendent promptly arranged for a doctor to be called to the scene, ensuring immediate medical assistance was available.
Railway Personnel Coordinate Safe Delivery
The delivery was successfully performed right on the station platform, with a woman Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) providing constant support and companionship to the mother throughout the emergency. Following the birth, both the mother and newborn were safely shifted to a hospital in Wardha for further care and monitoring.
Family members were informed of the situation, and the railway team worked efficiently to handle the crisis. Senior divisional commercial manager Aman Mittal commented, "This incident highlights the commitment of railway personnel in managing medical emergencies to ensure passenger safety, even in the most unexpected situations."
Mother and Baby in Stable Condition
Reports confirm that both the mother and the baby boy are now stable and out of danger. The quick actions of the railway staff and passengers played a crucial role in ensuring a positive outcome, underscoring the importance of preparedness and teamwork in such scenarios.
