AIIMS Deoghar Aims to Become Largest Hospital in Eastern India

Dumka: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Deoghar celebrated its eighth foundation day on Monday with a programme held at the institute's campus in Devipur, Deoghar district. The event was attended by Union Minister for Woman and Child Development Annpurna Devi, Godda MP Nishikant Dubey, and other dignitaries.

Vision for Regional Healthcare Leadership

AIIMS Deoghar aims to become one of the largest hospitals in eastern and northeastern India, serving not only Jharkhand but also neighbouring states such as Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal, said AIIMS director Dr. Nitin Gangane. He added that the institute's goal is to develop it as one of the biggest healthcare institutions in the region. The hospital, spread across nearly 300 acres, will be further expanded to provide advanced medical facilities to more people.

Quality Treatment and Social Development

Gangane stated that reputed doctors and healthcare professionals from across the country are being appointed to ensure quality treatment for patients. He emphasised that AIIMS Deoghar is not only strengthening healthcare services but also contributing significantly to social development in the region.

Government Initiatives and Public Trust

Praising the Centre's ongoing efforts in the healthcare sector, Annpurna Devi said that major changes are being witnessed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Through the Ayushman Bharat healthcare scheme, lakhs of poor families have received hope for better treatment. She further noted that the institute has accelerated development in the district and created employment opportunities in nearby areas. "People have immense trust in AIIMS, and to strengthen this confidence, new AIIMS are being established across the country," she added.

Role of Artificial Intelligence

MP Nishikant Dubey stressed the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the healthcare sector. He said that under the PM's leadership, AI is being increasingly used in healthcare and other sectors to drive development. "The more AIIMS Deoghar advances in technology and modern medicine, the more beneficial it will become for people," he concluded.
