The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Sirsa, in collaboration with Shrimat City Centre and Amara Green, organized a cleanliness drive in the city on Wednesday to mark National Doctors' Day. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about hygiene and civic responsibility among citizens.
Drive Flagged Off at Sangwan Chowk
The cleanliness drive commenced from Gold's Gym at Sangwan Chowk. It was flagged off by IMA patron Dr Ved Beniwal, district president Dr Saurabh Walia, secretary Dr Pankaj Garg, Gold's Gym owner Anil Goyal, Shrimat City Centre promoter Sanjeev Jain, and Shrimat Bridge LLP director Madhav Jain. Several senior doctors and IMA members also participated in the event.
Doctors Emphasize Public Participation
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ved Beniwal highlighted that National Doctors' Day is observed on the birth and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician and former Chief Minister of West Bengal. He stressed that maintaining cleanliness is a collective responsibility and cannot be left solely to the administration or sanitation workers. According to Dr Beniwal, public participation is essential to keep the city clean.
Sanjeev Jain, promoter of Shrimat City Centre, urged citizens to integrate cleanliness into their daily routines. He remarked, "Homes, streets, colonies, and cities will remain clean only if every citizen contributes." He added that Shrimat City Centre and Amara Green extended their support to the campaign following an appeal from the IMA.
Cleanliness Efforts and Awareness
The doctors and participants cleaned the area near Sangwan Chowk to set an example and spread awareness about hygiene and civic duty. The drive underscored the importance of community involvement in maintaining public spaces.
Visit to Shrimat City Centre
After the cleanliness drive, IMA members visited Shrimat City Centre on Dabwali Road, where they were given a tour of the upcoming multi-storey commercial-cum-residential project. Madhav Jain, director of Shrimat Bridge LLP, thanked all IMA members for their active participation in the event.
