Colleen Hoover Opens Up About Cancer Treatment Progress
Popular author Colleen Hoover has shared a significant health update with her followers. This comes several months after she first revealed her cancer diagnosis on social media platforms.
Radiation Treatment Nears Completion
Hoover recently posted on her Instagram story about undergoing radiation therapy. She mentioned having just one more session remaining at Texas Oncology. The author included a photograph showing herself wearing a hospital gown during treatment.
"Second to last day of radiation," Hoover wrote in her social media update. "I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on Texas Oncology, but they've been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them."
Diagnosis Timeline and Treatment Details
The author initially discussed her health situation in a Facebook post during December 2025. At that time, Hoover confirmed she had cancer but chose not to specify the exact type. She indicated radiation treatment would be necessary but clarified chemotherapy wasn't part of her treatment plan.
Before her diagnosis became public, Hoover experienced persistent health problems. These issues occurred while she worked on the film adaptation of her novel 'Reminders of Him.'
"I continued to put off addressing my health until the movie was finished," Hoover explained in an interview with People magazine. "While it felt huge and scary for a bit, and I had to miss important events like the Regretting You premiere, I wasn't ready to share until I knew the outcome."
Missed Events and Recent Revelations
Following her diagnosis announcement, Hoover has missed multiple professional engagements. She expressed disappointment about being unable to travel due to medical requirements.
"I'm super bummed, but I have an unavoidable surgery and can't travel for a while," the author wrote in another social media post. "I'll live vicariously through you guys. So sad to miss this movie release and premiere, but so grateful to all the actors and the team who put this together."
Understanding the Cancer's Origins
In a detailed Facebook post last week, Hoover provided more information about her condition. She received genetic testing results that provided important insights.
"I got results back today from the geneticist that say my cancer did not come from family genes," Hoover shared. "It also didn't come from the two main causes of the cancer, which are HPV and excessive hormones. This means it was more than likely environmental or lifestyle related - lack of exercise, poor diet and stress."
The author continues to update her followers as she progresses through treatment, maintaining transparency about her health journey while managing her writing career and film adaptations.
