Gnanasundari, a resident of Melur, met with a severe road accident. She was rushed to Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital in Madurai but tragically never regained consciousness. Medical professionals declared her brain dead on Saturday, just two days after the accident.

On Sunday, a dedicated medical team successfully harvested both kidneys, the liver, and both corneas. The organs were swiftly allocated to save and improve the lives of waiting patients.
The liver and one kidney were transplanted into recipients at Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital itself. The second kidney was transported to a patient at Kauvery Speciality Hospitals in Trichy.
