Delhi AQI Hits 381: Air Quality Stays 'Very Poor'
Delhi AQI at 381, Air Quality 'Very Poor'

The national capital continued to gasp for breath on Sunday, November 23, 2025, as its air quality was firmly lodged in the 'very poor' category. The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) for Delhi was recorded at a worrying 381, according to official data.

Widespread Pollution Across Monitoring Stations

Data sourced from the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) Sameer application painted a grim picture of the city's atmosphere. The readings revealed that a significant number of areas were suffering from hazardous air. Thirteen monitoring stations across Delhi reported air quality levels that had plunged into the 'severe' category, indicating a serious health risk for residents in those zones.

Furthermore, the situation was dire in many other parts of the city. An additional 25 monitoring stations registered AQI readings soaring above 300, firmly placing them within the 'very poor' range as defined by the pollution control authorities. This data highlights the extensive nature of the pollution blanket covering the city.

Weather Conditions and Outlook

Amid the toxic air, the weather department forecast a maximum temperature of around 26 degrees Celsius for the day. The forecast also predicted the occurrence of shallow fog in several parts of the city, a condition that can often trap pollutants close to the ground, potentially worsening the air quality situation further.

The persistent 'very poor' air quality poses significant health hazards, especially for children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing respiratory and heart conditions. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as citizens are advised to take necessary precautions.
