Indore: A private multi-speciality hospital in Indore has been served a notice proposing a one-month suspension of its registration, while another private hospital had its sonography machines sealed after inspections uncovered irregularities in hospital operations, documentation, and compliance with the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act.
Inspection Details
The actions follow inspections conducted by health department teams under the directives of District Collector Shivam Verma. Officials reported that deficiencies were identified in several departments of the multi-speciality hospital, including the outpatient department (OPD), emergency department, pharmacy, cardiac and neuro intensive care units (ICUs), operation theatre, medical records department, PCPNDT section, pathology laboratory, blood bank, and building maintenance records.
Based on the inspection report submitted to the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), authorities issued a notice proposing the suspension of the hospital's registration for a period of one calendar month.
Separate Case: Sonography Machines Sealed
In a separate incident, officials sealed all sonography machines at another private hospital after an inspection under the PCPNDT Act allegedly found irregularities in its operations. According to health department officials, a subsequent inquiry revealed that two doctors were allegedly performing echocardiography-related work without the required registration. CMHO Dr. Madhav Prasad Hasani informed the district administration about the findings, following which action was initiated.
Acting on the collector's directions, a PCPNDT team visited the hospital on Friday and sealed all ultrasound machines with immediate effect. Officials also put the renewal of the hospital's PCPNDT registration certificate on hold and completed the necessary legal formalities on the spot.
