Jharkhand has achieved national recognition as two of its innovative public health best practices were showcased at the 10th National Summit on Good and Replicable Practices in Public Health Systems, held in Chandigarh on April 30.
National Recognition for Health Innovations
Under the National Health Mission, the state’s ‘T4 app’, developed as part of the Anaemia Mukt Bharat initiative, was selected for an oral presentation at the summit. The app earned widespread appreciation for its role in improving anaemia management and beneficiary monitoring. Furthermore, Jharkhand was conferred a national award for successfully implementing this digital innovation, highlighting the state's commitment to leveraging technology for public health.
Gym Inaugurated by Former Deputy CM
Sudesh Kumar Mahto, central president of Ajsu-P and former deputy chief minister, inaugurated a new gym in the Samlong area of the city on Sunday. Speaking at the event, Mahto emphasized that amidst today's hectic lifestyles, health is often neglected. He noted, “The youth, too, do not appear to be conscious of their health. Consequently, the need for such fitness centres has become even more imperative. Young people need to utilise the resources of fitness centres to adopt a healthy lifestyle and strengthen their physical capabilities. Only healthy individuals can build a healthy nation.”

Farmers Pray for Rain During Manda Puja
Farmers offered prayers for rainfall, peace, prosperity, good harvest, and good health during the Manda Puja celebrations in Ranchi on Friday. Participants performed the traditional ‘jhoolan’ ritual, hanging from a pole and showering flower petals on women devotees while praying for rain, harmony, prosperity, a bumper crop, and good health on Saturday.
