The meeting preceded the children's journey to Kanpur, where they are scheduled to undergo crucial cochlear implant surgeries.

The initiative is part of a broader drive to tackle hearing loss at an early age. Officials revealed that an impressive 65,000 children have been screened under the program so far, with surgeries successfully completed on 25 of them. The district administration has received clear directives to prioritize the screening of children aged up to three years. This focus on the youngest age group is critical for effective intervention.
To strengthen the program's reach and efficiency, the administration is also organizing specialized training workshops. These workshops will equip health managers, ASHA workers, and child development project officers with the necessary skills to identify potential hearing issues early on.
