Belagavi's Anmol Dhamaka: 1,000 Specially Abled & Orphaned Kids Celebrate
1,000 Specially Abled, Orphaned Children Unite in Belagavi Event

A wave of joy and inclusivity swept through Belagavi as nearly 1,000 specially abled and orphaned children gathered for a day dedicated to celebration and learning. The event, named Anmol Dhamaka, was held on Sunday at the Hindalco Community Hall, creating a vibrant platform for children from diverse backgrounds to connect and shine.

A Collective Effort for a Noble Cause

The programme was orchestrated under the leadership of Anita, who heads Anmol Tangudhama. This institute, known for its work with orphaned and underprivileged girls, joined forces with several key organisations to make the day possible. The Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, Maria Kripa Society, and Hindalco Industries collaborated closely, united by a common goal: to provide a memorable and empowering experience for children who frequently navigate social and economic hurdles.

Students travelled from 22 special schools across the Belagavi district to participate. The schedule was packed with a rich variety of activities meticulously designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and encourage social bonding. From engaging games and cultural performances to interactive sessions, every moment was aimed at bringing smiles and creating lasting memories.

Voices of Support and Social Responsibility

The gathering also served as a forum to highlight the ongoing need for community support. Latha Arogia, the superior and trustee of Maria Kripa Society, addressed the attendees. She made a heartfelt appeal to the public, urging them to extend their support to organisations dedicated to the welfare of specially abled children and orphans. She stressed the critical importance of creating inclusive opportunities and ensuring sustained community involvement in their lives.

Echoing this sentiment, Vivek Kamlani, Managing Director of Shantesha Motors Pvt Ltd, spoke on the essence of social responsibility. He emphasised that society must collectively ensure every child, irrespective of their background, gets a fair chance to pursue a brighter future. He encouraged the children present to enjoy the day to the fullest and use the occasion to forge new friendships.

Kausikisaran Misra, Unit Head of Hindalco Industries, expressed his appreciation for the relentless efforts of the sisters and organisers. He commended their dedication to uplifting underprivileged children and injecting hope into their lives.

Competitions, Prizes, and Distinguished Presence

A highlight of the event was a poster competition centred on the vital theme of ‘Child Rights and Protection’. The competition added a splash of colour and thoughtful expression to the festivities. The winners were:

  • First Prize: Carmel School for the specially abled.
  • Second Prize: Suraksha School, Ganeshpur.
  • Third Prize: Govt Boys School, Shivajinagar.

The programme commenced with a welcoming performance by the band of Divine Providence High School. The event was graced by several notable personalities, including Mayur Krishna from Hindalco Industries, senior journalist and activist Louis Rodrigues, Sarfraj Khatib of the Make Them Smile Foundation, and social activist Sanjay Porwal. The annual report of Anmol Tangudhama was presented by Natal.

The Anmol Dhamaka programme in Belagavi ultimately stood as a powerful testament to what can be achieved through community collaboration. It was more than just a day of fun; it was a strong, visible commitment to inclusivity, joy, and building a supportive future for every child.
