DPGU Pune Hosts 3-Day Drama Therapy Workshop Led by Deepak Pachory
DPGU Pune's 3-Day Drama Therapy Workshop from Dec 3

The School of Liberal Arts at Dnyaan Prasad Global University (DPGU), under the Dr. D.Y. Patil Unitech Society, is gearing up to present a unique three-day experiential workshop. Titled “Drameutic: Transformative Journey through Drama Therapy,” the event is scheduled to run from December 3 to 5, 2025.

Veteran Guidance for a Creative Therapeutic Journey

Leading this immersive workshop will be Mr. Deepak Pachory, a seasoned professional with more than two decades of experience in the Indian entertainment industry. The primary objective is to offer participants a deep, reflective space to discover how drama and creative expression can serve as powerful therapeutic tools.

The workshop is designed to introduce Drama Therapy as a structured, yet highly creative, method for self-discovery. Attendees will partake in various activities aimed at facilitating emotional processing, fostering self-exploration, building social connections, and encouraging personal development.

Hands-On Learning Through Story and Movement

Over the course of the three days, individuals will delve into diverse storytelling formats and hone their ability to construct compelling narratives. The sessions will blend foundational storytelling concepts with practical, movement-based exercises, role-playing scenarios, and improvisation techniques.

This program is crafted to be inclusive, welcoming anyone with a curiosity for storytelling—no prior background in theatre, performance, or therapy is necessary. The only prerequisites are an open mind and a readiness to engage actively in the creative process.

Bridging Personal Growth and Professional Skill Development

Dr. Somnath P. Patil, Pro-Chancellor of DPGU, emphasized the workshop's relevance in contemporary times. “In today’s fast-paced world, individuals often lack safe and creative spaces to express their inner experiences and reconnect with their authentic selves,” he stated. “Through this workshop, participants will not only learn foundational drama therapy tools through collective creativity but will also gain emotional clarity and a deeper connection with their inner selves.”

The workshop is positioned as a dual-benefit initiative. It serves as a valuable opportunity for personal growth while also acting as a professional asset. It aims to prepare students for careers that require strong human-centric skills and to equip faculty members with techniques to cultivate more empathetic and psychologically aware interactions within academic settings.
