In a significant advancement for emergency medical care, twenty doctors have successfully graduated from the rigorous Fellowship in Aero Medical Sciences (FAM) programme conducted by ICATT. The graduation ceremony, held at the JSS Hospital auditorium in Mysuru, marked a pivotal moment in the field of advanced medical services.
Spiritual Leader Highlights Higher Calling for Graduates
Congratulating the graduating doctors, Shivarathri Desikendra Swami of Suttur Mutt described their achievement as transcending mere academic success. He emphasized that the programme reflects a deep commitment to humanity and service. ICATT's Expansive Role and Future Plans in Air Ambulance Services
Dr Shalini Nalwad, founder-director of ICATT, provided insights into the organisation's impactful work. Established in 2017, ICATT is among Asia's largest air ambulance providers, operating from key cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Mysuru. She highlighted notable achievements, such as completing 260 ECMO transfers and over 2,600 air transfers, with 550 of these missions related to Covid-19 in 2020. Additionally, ICATT has offered free air ambulance services in Madhya Pradesh and executed critical rescue operations, including one for injured CRPF personnel in Bastar, Chhattisgarh.
Looking ahead, Dr Nalwad announced ambitious expansion plans, revealing a project to introduce 788 e-planes across India, valued at approximately 1 billion dollars. This initiative aims to enhance the reach and efficiency of emergency medical services nationwide.
Accreditation and Collaborative Efforts in Medical Education
The FAM curriculum is accredited by JSS University and has been designed in collaboration with KSS Air Ambulance Charity, ensuring high standards in aero medical training.
