The Himachal Pradesh Police, in collaboration with the state's Ayush Department, is set to organize a mass yoga session at the iconic Ridge in Shimla on June 21, marking the 12th International Yoga Day. The event aims to promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle among the public.

Event Details

The session will take place from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM under the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." Participants are requested to report by 5:30 AM. The day is celebrated annually on June 21.

Importance of Yoga

Director General of Police Ashok Tewari emphasized the significance of yoga, stating, "Yoga is not merely a physical exercise. It is a complete science of life gifted by ancient Indian wisdom to humanity. Regular practice of yoga strengthens the body, controls stress, improves concentration, and brings harmony between the body, mind, and soul."
