Ayodhya, the revered birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, is set to celebrate Ram Janmotsav with immense joy and devotion. The city will be adorned with lights, flowers, saffron flags, rangoli, and earthen diyas, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami on March 27, 2026.
The Surya Tilak Ritual: A Scientific and Spiritual Marvel
One of the highlights of the festivities is the Surya Tilak, a unique ritual where sun rays are precisely directed to touch the forehead of the Ram Lalla idol at exactly 12 PM on Ram Navami. This is achieved through a complex system of mirrors and lenses designed by leading Indian scientists, ensuring that the sunlight enters the sanctum sanctorum at noon, forming a dazzling tilak on the deity's forehead for about four minutes.
Ensuring No One Misses the Moment
To accommodate the large influx of devotees, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust has made extensive arrangements. Gopal Rao from the trust reported that over one lakh devotees are already visiting the temple, with the Surya Tilak coinciding with the noon aarti. For those unable to witness it inside the temple, television screens have been installed across Ayodhya, broadcasting the ceremony live. Additionally, news channels will provide coverage, allowing people in other cities to experience this breathtaking moment.
Free Darshan Timings and Temple Schedule
The temple will remain open from early morning until late night, with VIP darshan suspended to ensure equality and smooth crowd flow. Devotees can attend free darshan during the following time slots on Ram Navami:
- 07:00 AM to 09:00 AM
