Bihar Diwas Celebrations Commence with Grand Events Across Districts
The annual Bihar Diwas celebrations officially began across various districts on Sunday, marked by a series of vibrant events including marathons, cultural programs, sports competitions, and awareness campaigns. These activities are designed to showcase the state's rich cultural heritage and ongoing development efforts. Officials and public representatives participated enthusiastically, encouraging widespread youth involvement in the festivities.
Buxar District: "Run for Fit" Marathon Promotes Health and Wellness
In Buxar, the art and culture department, in collaboration with the district administration, organized a marathon themed "Run for Fit." District Magistrate Sahila inaugurated the event by lighting a ceremonial torch and flagging off the race. Demonstrating her commitment, she joined the runners, motivating participants throughout the course. Senior officials, including DDC Niharika Chhavi, Additional Collector Arun Kumar Singh, and SWEEP youth icon Abhiram Sundar, actively participated in the marathon. All participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their efforts.
During the event, DM Sahila emphasized the critical importance of maintaining both physical and mental fitness. DDC Niharika Chhavi reinforced this message by encouraging attendees to adopt a healthy lifestyle as part of their daily routines.
Sitamarhi District: Three-Day Celebration Plan Unveiled
In Sitamarhi, the Bihar Diwas celebrations also launched on Sunday with a comprehensive three-day schedule of activities. District Magistrate Richi Pandey announced plans for sanitation drives, rangoli competitions, prabhat pheri processions, essay and painting contests, sports events, blood donation camps, and cycle rallies. The inaugural function took place at Dumra field, where the DM highlighted Bihar's historical legacy and expressed optimism about the state's future development.
Notably, DM Pandey mentioned ambitious plans for constructing a world-class Maa Janki temple at Punaura Dham. MLAs Sunil Kumar Pintu and Baidyanath Prasad also addressed the gathering, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
Ara District: Sports and Culture Take Center Stage
In Ara, large crowds gathered at Veer Kunwar Singh Stadium and Ramna Maidan for the Bihar Diwas celebrations. Organized by the state government and district administration, the event featured a variety of sports competitions and cultural performances. Labour Resources Minister Sanjay Singh Tiger and DM Tanai Sultania addressed the attendees, emphasizing Bihar's unique cultural identity and the immense potential of its youth.
The celebration was further enlivened by competitive events in boxing, weightlifting, archery, kabaddi, kho-kho, and wushu. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants, overseen by officials including DDC Gunjan Singh, MP Sudama Prasad, MLA Radha Charan Shah, and Mayor Indu Devi.
