Building Bridges Beyond Trade: A Shared Vision

The event underscored a powerful message: the relationship between India and Italy extends far beyond commerce. Key figures highlighted the deep cultural connections that bind the two nations.

Claudio Maffiloetti, CEO & Secretary General of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, emphasized this synergy. He stated that the interaction thrives on culture, creativity, and cuisine. Through a shared appreciation for food, design, and art, both countries continue to build bridges that strengthen mutual understanding and economic partnership.

Riccardo Dalla Costa, the Consul General of Italy in Kolkata, expressed being overwhelmed by the city's response. He noted that Kolkata has always demonstrated a profound appreciation for Italy, particularly its cuisine, culture, and way of life.

Echoing this sentiment, Pankaj Parekh, Chairman of the IICCI North-Eastern Council in Kolkata, pointed to the shared values of craftsmanship, creativity, and culture. He described the festival as a celebration of these common threads, paving the way for even stronger bilateral ties.

Chef Italo Bassi also shared his admiration for the host city, drawing a parallel between Kolkata's culinary scene and Italian passions. He remarked on the depth, freshness, and emotion in Kolkata's food, noting how it resonates with the same passion for ingredients and authenticity that defines Italian cuisine.
