Goa Chief Minister Emphasizes State's Spiritual and Cultural Legacy at Parashuram Festival
Panaji: Goa, renowned for its picturesque beaches and vibrant tourism, is also a beacon of spirituality and deep-rooted cultural values, according to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. Speaking at the Gomantak Janak Bhagwan Parashuram Avtaran Mahotsav on Sunday, Sawant underscored the state's multifaceted identity beyond its coastal allure.
Immersive Experience on the Banks of the Mandovi River
During his address, Chief Minister Sawant highlighted the unique nature of the festival, stating, "This is the first time the people will get to experience and live the life of Parashuram right on the banks of the Mandovi river." The event, organized by the Rashtriya Parashuram Parishad and Panaji Nav Varsha Swagat Samiti, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Publicity and the Entertainment Society of Goa, aims to bring the legendary figure of Parashuram to life for attendees.
Calls for a Dedicated Research Center on Parashuram
Sunil Bharala, founder of the Rashtriya Parashuram Parishad, proposed the establishment of a research center focused on Parashuram and his life. "There should be a research centre dedicated to Parashuram and his ideas, so that people from national and international research ecosystems can propagate his teachings," Bharala emphasized. This initiative seeks to foster academic exploration and global dissemination of Parashuram's philosophical and cultural contributions.
Festival Concludes with Spectacular Light and Sound Show
The Mahotsav culminated with a grand Mahaarti followed by a captivating 25-minute light and sound show depicting the life of Parashuram. This multimedia presentation, open to the public until April 26, offers an engaging and educational experience for visitors, blending traditional rituals with modern entertainment techniques to celebrate Goa's rich heritage.
By integrating spiritual themes with cultural festivities, the event reinforces Goa's position as a hub of both recreational and profound historical significance, inviting locals and tourists alike to delve into the state's deeper narratives.
