Ahmedabad's LD Museum has inaugurated a captivating new exhibition titled The World of Pahari Miniatures, featuring a curated selection from the esteemed NC Mehta Collection. This gallery, now open at the Lilavati Lalbhai Gallery within the museum, offers visitors an immersive journey into the rich artistic traditions of Pahari painting that flourished between the 17th and 19th centuries.

The exhibition includes a range of miniatures that highlight the emotional depth and artistic brilliance of the era. For instance, an early 19th-century Kangra school miniature poignantly depicts the pangs of longing experienced by a virahini, or lovelorn heroine. In contrast, a Basohli style painting from around 1775 captures the joyous moment of Radha admiring Krishna.
