360th Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh Celebrated with Fervor in Lucknow
Lucknow Celebrates Guru Gobind Singh's 360th Prakash Parv

The 360th Prakash Parv, or birth anniversary, of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, was marked with deep devotion and grandeur at the historic Alambagh Gurdwara in Lucknow on Sunday. The celebrations brought together devotees, dignitaries, and community organizations for a day of spiritual reflection, service, and cultural remembrance.

Spiritual Soiree and Illuminating Discourses

The program commenced with the soulful rendition of Asa Di Vaar kirtan by priest Satbir Singh, setting a pious tone for the day. The musical offerings continued as students from Dasmesh Public School and KKNS Gurmat Academy, alongside the Stree Satsang Sabha, presented devotional hymns. A key highlight was the discourse by priest Veer Brijendra Pal, who traveled from Ludhiana to enlighten the congregation.

He elaborated on the profound struggles and teachings of Guru Gobind Singh. "Guru Gobind Singh struggled a lot to establish the Sikh panth, fought battles with Mughals and taught to serve humanity and remain disciplined in life," he said, emphasizing the Guru's lasting legacy of courage and righteousness.

Community Service and Recognition

True to the Sikh principle of 'Sarbat da Bhala' (welfare for all), the event seamlessly integrated seva (selfless service). A medical camp was organized on the premises, providing free consultations and medicines to approximately 200 people. In a nod to the importance of knowledge, a book fair featuring literature on Sikh history and the teachings of the Gurus was also inaugurated.

The prestigious Sardar Kapoor Singh Seva Award was conferred upon Sardar Jaspreet Singh in recognition of his dedicated and selfless service to the community, inspiring others to follow the path of seva.

Dignitaries Pay Homage to a Unifying Legacy

The celebrations witnessed visits from prominent political figures who paid their respects. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak offered obeisance at the Gurdwara and reflected on the Guru's broader impact. "Along with Sikh faith, Guru Gobind Singh also saved Hindu religion and fought many battles," he remarked, acknowledging the Guru's role as a protector of dharma.

Adding to the inter-community spirit, RSS pracharak for the Awadh region, Kaushal Kishore, also visited the Gurdwara and offered prayers, highlighting the event's inclusive nature.

The day-long observance concluded in the traditional Sikh manner, with devotees partaking in the community kitchen, or langar, symbolizing equality and shared humanity. The 360th Prakash Parv in Lucknow thus stood as a powerful testament to Guru Gobind Singh's enduring teachings of faith, service, and unity.
