State-Level Mahashivratri Festival to Illuminate Harvalem's Shri Rudreshwar Temple

The sacred town of Harvalem in Bicholim is set to host a grand state-level Mahashivratri festival at the revered Shri Rudreshwar temple this Sunday. The celebration promises a rich tapestry of religious, cultural, and spiritual programmes, drawing devotees from across the nation to participate in the divine festivities.

Comprehensive Arrangements for Devotee Convenience

In preparation for the anticipated large influx of pilgrims, the temple administration has proactively implemented robust policing and traffic management strategies. These measures were finalized during a crucial meeting chaired by Deputy Collector Shubham Naik, ensuring a smooth and orderly experience for all attendees.

The temple committee has earnestly appealed to devotees to adhere to queue systems for darshan to prevent any confusion and to fully cooperate with the established traffic protocols. Additionally, organizers have emphasized the importance of providing complete cooperation to the event coordinators to facilitate seamless execution.

Detailed Schedule of Religious and Cultural Events

The festival will commence with the first abhishek performed by Devasthan president Yeshwant Madkar. The Mahanaivaidya is scheduled to begin at 12:30 PM, marking a significant spiritual moment. Following this, the temple will temporarily close for cleaning from 7:45 PM for one hour.

Evening festivities will feature a soulful bhajan session by local artistes, running from 9:00 PM until midnight. At the stroke of 12:00 AM, a majestic Maha Aarti will be conducted, followed by a vibrant palanquin procession. Adding to the cultural richness, Shri Kelbai Devi will arrive from Varche Harvalem, accompanied by a traditional dindi procession.

Subsequently, the theatrical performance ‘Dhanaya Devchara’ will be presented by Shri Vitthal Manch Sangati from Karapur-Tisk, showcasing regional artistic talent. The celebrations will extend into Monday with the Divjotsav at 6:00 AM, followed by a grand chariot procession of Lord Rudreshwar on the Vijayarath, set to the rhythmic beats of tutari and drums.

Archashuddhis will commence at 10:00 AM, leading to a Samaradhana later in the day. The festival will culminate with a final Maha Aarti, Tirtha Prasad, and Maha Prasad distribution at 1:45 PM, bringing the spiritual gathering to a harmonious close.
