Shekhar Singh, the Commissioner of the Kumbh Mela Authority, has put forward the idea to Nashik's literary community. He expressed that the common perception of the Kumbh Mela has become limited to the ritualistic holy bath, or 'parvani snan'. While this is a core aspect rooted in faith, Singh emphasized that historically, the mega congregation served as a vital forum for exchanging ideas in an age devoid of modern communication tools.
"The concept is straightforward," Singh explained. "Both the Kumbh Mela and the century-old Marathi literary meet are fundamentally about the exchange of ideas. Hosting them together in Nashik would spark an intellectual churning and make this wealth of knowledge accessible to the masses." He has encouraged literary figures to formally propose this collaborative celebration to the Sahitya Parishad, which holds the final decision-making power.

According to Commissioner Singh, such cross-cultural initiatives are designed to generate excitement at multiple levels and build substantial momentum for the global event, which is expected to draw visitors from across the world.
