The artwork was crafted to commemorate the birth anniversary of the revered historical figure, showcasing immense dedication and artistic skill.
Concept and Leadership Behind the Unique Tribute
The unique tribute was conceptualized by college principal Dr. Sunil Pandey in collaboration with Anil Kale, the director of Chaturbhuj Art. This visionary project aimed to honor Shivaji Maharaj's legacy through traditional Indian art, blending cultural reverence with creative expression.
Scale and Execution of the Monumental Artwork
The rangoli portrait spans an impressive area of nearly 30,000 square feet, making it a monumental undertaking. It was completed by a team of 15 dedicated students after six days of continuous, tireless work. The project required approximately 40 quintals of rangoli material, highlighting the sheer volume of resources invested in this artistic endeavor.
