Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 Opens with Photo Exhibition on Cultural Unity
Murugan Inaugurates Kashi-Tamil Culture Exhibition in Varanasi

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L Murugan, inaugurated a significant photo exhibition in Varanasi on Tuesday, marking the commencement of Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 at Namo Ghat. The exhibition, organized by the Central Bureau of Communication under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, celebrates the deep cultural ties between North and South India.

Celebrating Shared Heritage and Great Personalities

The exhibition is thematically divided, focusing on the Culture of Kashi and Tamil Nadu and the Central Government's Public Welfare Policies. A core segment is dedicated to honoring great personalities from both regions who have contributed immensely to nation-building.

From Tamil Nadu, the exhibition highlights figures like Sage Agastya, the poet saint Thiruvalluvar, the woman poet saint Avvaiyar, and Bhakti movement saints like Andal and Karaikal Ammaiyar. It also features social reformer Ramalinga Swami (Vallalar) and the legendary actor-politician M. G. Ramachandran.

The Kashi section pays tribute to saints Kabirdas and Ravidas, freedom fighter and educationist Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, shehnai maestro Bismillah Khan, sitar legend Pandit Ravi Shankar, and litterateur Jaishankar Prasad. Their life philosophies and achievements are depicted through photographs and descriptive narratives.

Minister Highlights Unity and Policy Reforms

Addressing the gathering, Minister L Murugan emphasized that the Kashi Tamil Sangamam is a pivotal initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that the event serves a dual purpose: fostering mutual understanding of the distinct cultures and strengthening the nation's unity and integrity.

Murugan expressed confidence that such events will reinforce the centuries-old cultural bond between Kashi and Tamil Nadu. He also took the opportunity to connect the cultural showcase with contemporary governance, noting that policy reforms like the GST and labour law changes under PM Modi's leadership are providing substantial benefits to the common people.

Showcasing Government Policies and Public Welfare

Beyond culture, the exhibition serves as an informational platform regarding the central government's schemes and efforts. It illustrates various public welfare policies being implemented under the current leadership.

Specifically, it provides details for visitors on the recent labour reform laws and the concerted efforts made to reduce GST rates on numerous goods and services, aiming to translate policy into public understanding.

The exhibition is open for public viewing and will continue at the venue until December 15, offering residents and visitors of Varanasi a chance to engage with this narrative of cultural harmony and developmental progress.
