Prachi Sharma's Artistic Legacy Immortalized in Collector's Book
Some lives transcend mere memories, leaving behind a profound and lasting emotional impact. In a heartfelt tribute, the Tvastra by Prachi Foundation has unveiled a limited-edition collector's book on what would have been Prachi Sumit Sharma's 23rd birthday. This special release meticulously captures her vibrant life, extensive artistic creations, and the enduring spirit that continues to inspire many.
A Prolific Young Artist's Journey
Prachi Sharma was a remarkably talented young artist who, by the age of 18, had produced over 200 works of art. Her creative expression spanned a diverse range of mediums, including painting, sketches, calligraphy, and quilling. A signature motif in her art was the butterfly, which she used to symbolize freedom—a theme that resonates powerfully throughout her body of work. The book not only documents her artistic journey but also delves into the philosophy behind Tvastra, the name she chose for her collection, which translates to "ancient creativity."
Fulfilling Promises and Celebrating a Force
In 2024, her parents, Priya Sumit Sharma and Sumit Govind Sharma, honored one commitment by organizing a solo exhibition of her work at Mumbai's prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery. This year, they are fulfilling another promise with the release of this book, designed to be an immersive experience rather than just a read. "Prachi is more than just my daughter; she is a force. During her just over 18 years, she created more than 200 pieces of art, using every medium and feeling every emotion she could find. In 2022, destiny took her physically away from us, but it couldn't take what she left behind," the parents shared emotionally.
They added, "We are releasing a collector's item—a book of her biography and her collection—on her birthday. Prachi deserves to be celebrated, collected, loved, and to sit in someone's home, making them feel something they can't quite put into words. We have 200 reasons to celebrate Prachi, and we plan to do so for as long as we live."
Extending Legacy Through Community Impact
Beyond the book, Prachi's legacy is actively perpetuated through the foundation's impactful initiatives. The Prachi Foundation collaborates with municipal schools in Mumbai, providing art classes that are supported by trained teachers and free supplies. These programs are instrumental in nurturing creativity and building confidence among young students, ensuring that her passion for art continues to inspire future generations.
