Sangolli Rayanna Festival Concludes with Cultural Splendor in Bailhongal

The two-day Sangolli Rayanna utsav wrapped up on Tuesday in Sangolli, located in Bailhongal taluk. Organizers, literary figures, artists, and enthusiastic audiences celebrated the festival's grand finale.

Musical and Folk Performances Delight Attendees

Playback singers Anuradha Bhatt, Jaskaran Singh, Hanumant Lamani, Shivani, Vinod Gouda, and Surendra Raghu entertained the crowd with melodious songs. Artist Hanumant Lamani captivated everyone by singing traditional folk songs.

The festival featured a variety of programs. These included a symposium and a cultural extravaganza. Artists from different districts performed in a folk art procession on Monday. They danced and showcased their talents, drawing cheers from the audience.

Procession and Community Participation

More than twenty-three groups joined the procession. They entertained onlookers with dynamic dance moves. Women from the Sri Shakti Sangha participated by carrying 'kumbha' in the procession.

Dignitaries Emphasize Patriotism and Future Plans

Mahantesh Kaujalagi, chairman of the Karnataka State Finance Corporation and MLA of Bailhongal, presided over the event. He highlighted that Sangolli Rayanna is a nationally recognized figure. The government is organizing programs to share his struggles. This aims to instill patriotism in the younger generation.

Kaujalagi also announced plans to build a musical fountain in Sangolli in the near future.

Babasaheb Patil, MLA of Kittur, spoke about the festival's purpose. He said celebrating such events helps introduce youth to the heroes who fought for the country.

Notable Attendees at the Festival

Several dignitaries graced the occasion. Rahul Shinde, CEO of ZP, attended along with Gurulinga Shivacharya Swami of Sangolli. Siddalingeshwara Hiremath and Rajayogindra Swami of Kalmath were also present.

Other participants included Praveen Jain, assistant commissioner of Bailhongal. DSP Veeraiah Hiremath joined the event. Vidyavati Bhajantri, deputy director of the Kannada and Culture Department, participated as well.

Local officials like GP president Roopa Chachadi and tahsildars Hanumant Shirahatti, Kallanagouda Patil, and Mallikarjun Heggannavar took part in the festivities.
