The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has finalized extensive and meticulous arrangements for the sacred Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam, scheduled to be held from December 30, 2025, to January 8, 2026. This annual event, marking the auspicious period when the northern gate of the temple sanctum is opened, is expected to draw massive crowds of devotees seeking the divine glimpse of Lord Venkateswara.
Overwhelming Devotee Response and e-DIP Selection
The administration has reported an overwhelming response from devotees across the country. According to the latest figures, a staggering 24 lakh (2.4 million) devotees have registered their intent to participate in the darshan. Managing this immense influx requires a systematic and fair process.
To ensure orderly darshan and crowd management, TTD utilized its e-DIP (Electronic Devotee Integration Process) system for selection. From the vast pool of registrations, 1.89 lakh (189,000) devotees have been successfully selected through this digital lottery for the initial phase of the event. These selected pilgrims have been allotted specific tokens for darshan on the first three days of the festival, from December 30 to January 1.
Elaborate Arrangements for Smooth Pilgrimage
In anticipation of the lakhs of devotees, the TTD administration has put in place a comprehensive plan covering all aspects of the pilgrimage experience. The arrangements focus on security, sanitation, accommodation, and seamless darshan procedures.
Key measures include:
- Enhanced security deployment and crowd control barricades along the darshan queue lines.
- Special medical camps and increased availability of drinking water and sanitation facilities.
- Streamlined token verification systems to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure the selected devotees can proceed without hassle.
- Coordination with various government departments for traffic management and public transport in and around Tirumala.
The focus remains on providing a spiritually fulfilling and physically comfortable experience for every devotee who makes the journey to the holy shrine during this period.
Managing Expectations and Future Days
With registrations far exceeding the immediate capacity, the TTD's e-DIP system will continue to be crucial for managing darshan for the remaining days of the event. Devotees who have registered but were not selected for the first three days are likely to be considered for subsequent days based on availability and the lottery draw.
The administration, led by officials including SNV Sudhir, has appealed to devotees to cooperate with the guidelines and only proceed to the temple if they possess a valid token or confirmation. This is to prevent overcrowding and ensure the safety and sanctity of the event for everyone involved.
The Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam is one of the most significant annual events at the Tirumala temple, and the elaborate preparations underscore TTD's commitment to serving the faithful while maintaining order and devotion at the world-renowned spiritual destination.
