Ayodhya Airport Completes 2 Successful Years of Operations

Ayodhya's sky gateway, the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, has successfully completed two full years of operations, marking a significant milestone in the region's infrastructure development. The airport was inaugurated on December 30, 2023, just before the historic consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla at the grand temple, and has since emerged as a crucial travel hub for pilgrims and tourists alike.

Robust Passenger Traffic and Flight Operations

In this two-year period, the airport has impressively catered to a total of 7,85,412 passengers. Currently, it facilitates approximately 20 flights daily, providing vital air links from Ayodhya to major metropolitan centers across India. These include well-connected routes to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

While some services to cities like Darbhanga, Kolkata, Patna, and Jaipur were temporarily halted for operational reasons, authorities have confirmed that plans are actively being made to restore these connections soon. This move is expected to further enhance the airport's network.

Strengthened Airline Connectivity and Modern Amenities

The airport's growth has been supported by leading Indian carriers. Airlines such as IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Air India have significantly bolstered connectivity, making Ayodhya an accessible destination from virtually every corner of the country.

Passengers traveling through the airport enjoy a suite of modern amenities designed for comfort and convenience. Key facilities include:

  • Efficient parking facilities
  • Prepaid taxi counters for hassle-free travel
  • Gift and sweet shops offering local specialties
  • Varied food courts and business lounges
  • Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi
  • Reliable cab services

A Catalyst for Regional Development

It has become a catalyst for economic and tourism growth in the Ayodhya region. By providing seamless air connectivity, the airport supports the influx of visitors, boosts local business, and integrates the city into the national aviation grid. Its sustained operations signal a promising future for the area's development as a key spiritual and cultural destination on the map.
