Dubai Tourism Chief Welcomes Global Visitors, Emphasizes Safety and Continuity
Issam Kazim, the Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, has extended a warm welcome to tourists from around the world, affirming that Dubai continues to offer key experiences, hotels, and attractions across its suburbs. This assurance comes despite the evolving regional situation, with authorities closely monitoring developments to ensure seamless operations.
Public Services and Tourism Offerings Remain Fully Accessible
In an exclusive interview with Khaleej Times, Kazim highlighted that public services in Dubai remain fully functional. He confirmed that tourism offerings, including beaches, shopping destinations, and various attractions, are accessible to both residents and international visitors. While some venues may have temporarily adjusted access protocols, the larger tourism ecosystem continues to operate as needed, ensuring a consistent visitor experience.
Safety and Security as Core Priorities
The official emphasized that safety and security for travelers are assured and have always been central to Dubai's business-as-usual approach. Kazim stated, "For us, visitor safety represents the highest priority, always. Safety is embedded in every decision we make, every operation we run, every experience we deliver." He added that Dubai does not compromise between safety and hospitality, delivering both simultaneously through robust systems designed for this purpose. "That's the Dubai promise, delivered consistently, regardless of what's happening around us," he affirmed.
Air Connectivity Resumes with Expanded Flight Operations
Air connectivity is a vital pillar of tourism in the Middle East, especially in cities like Dubai with a significant expatriate population. As of April 1, Emirates Airlines has resumed flights to more than 65 locations worldwide, reconnecting global travelers to the Middle Eastern airspace. Visitors are encouraged to stay updated through official sources, including Dubai's dedicated travel advisory page at visitdubai.com.
Hospitality Sector Prepared with Diverse Offerings
Dubai's hospitality sector remains fully prepared to welcome visitors, with hotels operating and offering staycation deals for both residents and tourists. Luxury resorts and independent restaurants continue to be active, showcasing strong coordination between authorities and private sector stakeholders. Kazim noted, "We do not apply a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether it's a major hotel chain, an independent restaurant, or a retail destination, we're listening carefully and acting accordingly."
Curated Dining Initiatives Enhance Visitor Experience
Middle Eastern cuisine is renowned for its enticing and delicious flavors, attracting travelers globally. To amplify tourism activity, Dubai has launched curated experiences and initiatives. Until April 19, the gastronomy campaign 'Dubai, A Fine Way to Dine' is running, offering a selection of culinary experiences across the emirate's restaurants. This initiative invites visitors to explore and connect through shared dining adventures.
Dh1-Billion Incentive Package Supports Tourism and Hospitality
Dubai has introduced a Dh1-billion incentive package to support businesses in vital sectors, including tourism and hospitality. Key measures under this package include:
- Hotels allowed to defer payment of sales fees on rooms, food, and beverage, along with Tourism Dirham, for three months.
- Operational fee relief provided to businesses to ensure liquidity and customer attraction.
In 2025, Dubai welcomed a record 19.59 million international overnight visitors. While this number is expected to decrease this year due to ongoing regional tensions, measures like the incentive package help businesses maintain operations and deliver the seamless travel and hospitality experiences Dubai is known for.
