The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has successfully completed a comprehensive renovation project with an investment of ₹1.91 crore, introducing new attractions aimed at enhancing visitor convenience and promoting sustainable tourism.
A New Hub for Family Fun and Recreation
Central to the zoo's revamp is the installation of a vibrant and modern kids' play zone. This new area is designed to engage younger visitors and features a variety of exciting equipment. Children can now enjoy swings like the wave slide, circular swing, and double arc swings. The zone also includes a multi-seater see-saw, a bridge ladder, and an engaging hexa climber, ensuring hours of safe and active fun for families.
Embracing Sustainability with Eco-Friendly Additions
In a move that blends aesthetics with environmental consciousness, the zoo has integrated bamboo furniture throughout its premises. Visitors will find comfortable seating clusters and charming gazebo-style rest points crafted from this sustainable material. These additions not only enhance the visual appeal of the gardens but also offer visitors serene spots to relax and reconnect with nature, firmly aligning with an eco-friendly ethos.
Furthermore, navigating the expansive zoo grounds has been made considerably easier. The authorities have installed new modern signage systems, comprising clear direction boards, informative panels, and essential safety indicators. Uttar Pradesh's Tourism and Culture Minister, Jaiveer Singh, emphasized the broader vision behind this initiative. He stated that the project aims to position the Lucknow Zoo as a premier destination for eco-tourism and family recreation. "The zoo garden is an identity of Lucknow. Through this project, we aim to offer a better, safer, and more nature-connected experience," Minister Singh remarked.
Echoing this sentiment, Zoo Director Aditi Sharma highlighted the visitor-centric approach of the renovations. "The new add-ons are made for the convenience of the public. We want more people to visit the zoo as it has got diverse animal and bird species that are very fascinating to see," she explained. The enhancements are expected to boost footfall by providing a more engaging and comfortable environment alongside the existing diverse wildlife collection.
