Nashik is buzzing with excitement as more than 15,000 people have already secured tickets for the city's inaugural air show. The highly anticipated event will feature the renowned Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team performing breathtaking manoeuvres in the sky. This spectacular display is scheduled to take place at the Gangapur dam on January 22 and 23.
Elaborate Arrangements for 60,000 Spectators
Collector Ayush Prasad confirmed that authorities have made extensive preparations to accommodate up to 60,000 attendees across both days. He highlighted the strong demand from various groups, including schools and people with disabilities, who have requested bulk bookings for the event.
Prasad explained that ticket prices range from Rs 100 to Rs 900. He emphasized that the pricing strategy aims not merely to generate revenue but to effectively manage the crowd. The primary goals are ensuring discipline and providing every aviation enthusiast with a peaceful opportunity to enjoy the air show without dealing with excessive rush or chaos.
Visitor Facilities and Safety Measures
The collector detailed the arrangements for basic amenities, noting that water and toilet facilities have been set up for visitors. However, he strongly advised attendees to bring their own water bottles, caps, and goggles to ensure personal comfort and safety during the outdoor event.
Developing Gangapur Dam as a Tourist Destination
Prasad revealed that the air show forms part of a broader initiative to develop the Gangapur dam and its backwaters into a prominent tourist spot. He mentioned that necessary infrastructural improvements have already been completed to support this vision, marking a significant step toward boosting local tourism.
