Uttar Pradesh Expands Tourism Infrastructure with New Lodges and Upgrades

In response to a significant surge in tourist arrivals, the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) has launched an ambitious initiative to construct 11 new Rahi Tourist Lodges while simultaneously renovating and upgrading existing facilities across the state.

Strategic Locations for New Rahi Lodges

The new lodges are being developed under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model and will be strategically located in key tourist areas. These include Mathura's Gokulgaon, Agra's Bateshwar, Kasganj's Soron, Sitapur, and near natural habitats such as the Patna Bird Sanctuary in Etah, Sandi Lake in Hardoi, and Narora in Bulandshahr. Additional sites are Pratapgarh's Bhoopiyamau, Auraiya's Devkali, Badaun's Kachhla Ghat, and Shamli's Kandhla.

Modern Facilities to Enhance Tourist Experience

A government spokesperson emphasized that these lodges are designed to provide modern amenities to tourists, aiming not only to strengthen the state's tourism infrastructure but also to position Uttar Pradesh as a leading national and international tourism destination. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to accommodate the growing number of visitors, particularly during major events.

Recent Developments and Renovations

Highlighting recent efforts, the spokesperson noted that due to high tourist influx during events like the Mahakumbh and Magh Mela in Prayagraj, UPSTDC constructed a new building at Hotel Rahi Triveni Darshan on the banks of the Yamuna river. This expansion has significantly increased accommodation capacity. Additionally, interior decoration was completed at UPSTDC's Hotel Rahi Ilavart in Prayagraj to enhance guest comfort.

Renovation and development work is also underway at the Rahi Tourist Lodge in Sarnath, Varanasi, while renovation has been successfully completed at the lodge in Chitrakoot. Currently, renovation work is in progress at the tourist lodge in Balrampur, further improving facilities across the state.

This comprehensive approach underscores Uttar Pradesh's commitment to boosting tourism through infrastructure development, ensuring a better experience for visitors and fostering economic growth in the region.
