Vadodara Airport Achieves Second Place in National Customer Satisfaction Survey 2025

The Vadodara airport has secured an impressive second position in the prestigious Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS) 2025, conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). This comprehensive survey evaluated 58 airports across the country, with Vadodara excelling in Category II, which includes airports handling between 0.5 to 1.5 million passengers annually.

Recognition for Excellence in Passenger Service

The award was formally presented to airport director M S I Dawood by the AAI chairman during a ceremony held in New Delhi on March 31. Airport officials have emphasized that this recognition is a direct result of consistent and dedicated efforts to enhance the overall passenger experience and elevate service quality standards.

In the survey, Vadodara airport achieved an outstanding score of 4.98 out of 5, placing it just behind the top-ranked airports of Khajuraho, Bhopal, and Aurangabad, which each scored 4.99. This near-perfect rating underscores the airport's commitment to operational excellence.

Leading Position in Gujarat and Collaborative Success

An official highlighted that Vadodara airport now stands as the number one AAI-operated airport in Gujarat, a testament to the coordinated and synergistic efforts of multiple stakeholders. This achievement reflects the successful collaboration between the AAI, various airlines, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and other key partners involved in airport operations.

The official further noted that this ranking is not merely a statistical victory but a validation of the ongoing initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, streamlining processes, and ensuring a seamless travel experience for all passengers.

Boost from Revamped UDAN Scheme and Future Prospects

Adding to this momentum, the airport is poised to benefit significantly from the Central government's recently modified UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme. The Union cabinet approved this revamped regional connectivity initiative on Wednesday, which proposes the development of 100 airports and 200 heliports across India.

The scheme is designed to make air travel more affordable and accessible, particularly for passengers from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. It also aims to promote domestic aircraft manufacturing as part of the broader Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative.

Authorities have expressed optimism that this initiative will strengthen regional air connectivity and create new growth opportunities for airports like Vadodara. The enhanced infrastructure and increased flight options are expected to drive passenger traffic and further improve service metrics in the coming years.

This dual achievement—high customer satisfaction and alignment with national connectivity goals—positions Vadodara airport as a key player in India's aviation landscape, ready to meet the evolving demands of air travelers while contributing to regional economic development.
