A tragic incident unfolded in Gulyam village, located in the Alur mandal of Kurnool district, on Friday, where a woman and her two-year-old daughter allegedly consumed pesticide in a suspected suicide pact. The woman's live-in partner, who also ingested the substance, is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital and remains in critical condition.
Details of the Incident
The deceased have been identified as Neelavathi and her daughter, both residents of Sanganakallu village in Ballari district, Karnataka. According to police reports, Neelavathi, her daughter, and her partner Mahesh had traveled to Gulyam village to offer prayers at the Gadilingeswara Swamy temple. After visiting the temple, the trio reportedly proceeded to an agricultural field located behind the temple premises, where they consumed a pesticide.
