Army Chief's Strong Warning to Pakistan on Terrorism

Army Chief's Stern Warning to Pakistan

Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi issued a strong warning to Pakistan on Monday, declaring that India has established a new normal in combating terrorism and will not be intimidated by any form of blackmail. The Army Chief emphasized that India now views terrorists and their supporters as equally responsible and will respond decisively to any acts of terror.

Operation Sindoor: A Message to Neighbors

General Dwivedi made a significant reference to Operation Sindoor, describing it as merely a trailer that concluded within 88 hours. He stated unequivocally, If Pakistan gives a chance, we will teach it how to behave responsibly with a neighbouring nation. The Army Chief's comments came during his address at the Cavalry Seminar 2025 in New Delhi.

The military leader articulated India's firm position on cross-border terrorism, noting that Pakistan will face difficulties if it continues to support terror networks operating against India. He reinforced the government's longstanding policy that talks and terror can't go together, drawing the powerful analogy that blood and water cannot follow together.

India's Strengthened Deterrence Capabilities

General Dwivedi highlighted the significant enhancement of India's defense capabilities, stating that today, India is not scared of any blackmailing - an apparent reference to Pakistan's nuclear threats. He emphasized that the country's political leadership is determined to strengthen national deterrence, which he described as very strong and effectively functioning.

The Army Chief also provided updates on several key regions:

  • Jammu and Kashmir: Significant improvement since Article 370 revocation in 2019, with political clarity and substantial decline in terrorism
  • India-China Relations: General improvement over the past year through diplomatic dialogue
  • Manipur: Situation gradually improving, with suggestion for Presidential visit

General Dwivedi concluded by reaffirming India's commitment to peaceful processes while maintaining a zero-tolerance approach toward terrorism and its sponsors, establishing a clear red line for neighboring nations.
