Indian Army Southern Command Showcases Combat Readiness in Major Exercise
The Indian Army's Southern Command has successfully concluded the Akhand Prahaar exercise, a comprehensive military drill conducted across the desert sector in Rajasthan. This significant exercise formed part of the larger tri-services exercise Trishul, marking the first joint military operation of this scale along the western border with Pakistan since Operation Sindoor in May.
Integrated Combat Operations Display
According to official statements released by the Southern Command, the exercise thoroughly validated the full-spectrum combat readiness of the Konark Corps. The military demonstration featured integrated deployment of all arms and services, including sophisticated mechanized and infantry maneuvers. The Rudra Brigade executed precise land operations while special heliborne operations and coordinated attack helicopter missions by Army Aviation demonstrated aerial superiority.
The exercise highlighted exceptional coordination between the Indian Army and Indian Air Force, with Fighter Ground Attack missions providing close support to ground forces. This seamless synergy between different military branches underscored the successful implementation of joint operational concepts.
Technological Innovation and Indigenous Systems
Exercise Akhand Prahaar served as a crucial testing ground for evaluating next-generation indigenous technologies under realistic battlefield conditions. The military drill featured extensive deployment of indigenous drones, unmanned systems, counter-drone systems, and advanced electronic warfare grids. These technological demonstrations emphasized India's growing commitment to atmanirbharta (self-reliance) in defense capabilities.
The Southern Command statement emphasized that the exercise reaffirmed the Konark Corps' transformation into a modern, agile and networked force, fully prepared for multi-domain, high-tempo operations in contemporary warfare scenarios.
Leadership Review and Future Preparedness
Southern Army Commander Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth personally reviewed the operational readiness of the Konark Corps during the exercise. The senior military leader commended all participating formations and units for their exceptional professionalism, innovation, and joint operational excellence.
The Trishul exercise framework, under which Akhand Prahaar was conducted, represents the armed forces' expanding multi-domain capabilities. The comprehensive drills covered electronic warfare, cyber operations, drone and counter-drone operations, along with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities and air defense control systems.
This major military exercise demonstrates India's continued commitment to maintaining operational excellence and joint force integration while advancing precision warfare capabilities through technological innovation and inter-service coordination.
